Eyedaptic and Vispero share this technology at CSUN Assistive Technology Conference
LAGUNA BEACH, CALIF. (PRWEB) MARCH 09, 2020
Eyedaptic, Inc., a natural vision software company, announced today a joint partnership with Vispero, a leading assistive technology provider for the visually impaired, to expand its reach of visually assistive Augmented Reality (AR) devices. By partnering together, Eyedaptic & Vispero can offer broader access of their low vision solution to the community.
More than 250 million people are affected by retinal disease globally. Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) alone impacts more than 170 million people, urging low vision experts to find a real solution to address this growing need. Eyedaptic is a software technology company, focused on developing and marketing visually assistive Augmented Reality (AR) devices with embedded simulated natural vision software in open market hardware platforms. Their comfortable, wearable low vision aid works to enhance daily living for those with low vision, including those with AMD.
Eyedaptic and Vispero will be co-hosting a booth at this year’s CSUN Assistive Technology Conference at the Marriott in Anaheim, California, from March 11th to 13th. CSUN (Cal State University Northridge) 35th Assistive Technologies Conference provides an inclusive setting for researchers, practitioners, exhibitors, end users, speakers and other participants to share knowledge and best practices in the field of assistive technology. Visit booth #503/603/703 to learn more about gaining access to Eyedaptic technology.
Clinical data presented at last year’s CSUN conference validated how the Eyedaptic eyeglasses improve both visual acuity as well as tasks of daily living. The clinical data presented demonstrated marked improvements of visual acuity of two times and five times improvement in daily living tasks. Additionally, the glasses are comfortable and easy to wear while executing a wide variety of tasks under a range of conditions.
“Our eyewear offers the widest field of view with Augmented Reality (AR) on the market today, to improve the vision for those with Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and other retinal challenges,” says Jay Cormier, Founder and CEO of Eyedaptic. “Through this partnership, we have the potential to reach more people struggling with the daily challenges that accompany low vision. This opportunity to share our technology with such a diverse crowd and get the word out on how we can improve millions of people’s lives is an honor.”
“We are excited about this opportunity to improve accessibility with state-of-the-art technology,” says Vispero Vice President, North America Sales, Richard Tapping. “Those with low vision and other retinal conditions will have an opportunity to regain the independence they once knew.”
