“The PMI continued its longest sustained 100+ activity range to finish the fourth quarter of 2019 at 106.5. We have not seen such high sustained activity levels since the Smart Phone or Mobile Patent War era”, commented Michael Lubitz, Managing Director and Founder of GTT Group. Monitored secondary patent assignment transaction volume increased to 1,987, a 2% increase over third quarter 2019. “While transaction volume continued to increase, smaller asset deals predominated the marketplace,” remarked Michael Lubitz, Founder and Managing Director of GTT Group.
GTT Group monitors patent filing trends in key areas of technology development and commercialization, including Mixed Reality, Autonomous Vehicles, IoT, Blockchain, and Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence. “We observed decreased filings in a number of areas, while Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence filing volume continued to increase for the quarter,” commented Michael Lubitz, Founder and Managing Director of GTT Group.
