MANILA, Dec. 29 (PNA) — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Thursday announced that seven post-disaster needs assessment (PDNA) teams are now being readied for deployment in “Nina”-battered Albay, Catanduanes and Camarines Sur.
Ricardo Jalad, NDRRMC executive director, said the PDNA will help the government in formulating more effective delivery of services to typhoon-affected communities and thus facilitate their immediate recovery.
He broken down the PDNA teams into one for Albay, two for Catanduanes, and four in Camarines Sur.
Jalad said these teams are now being readied after the NDRRMC received copies of the resolution declaring these provinces under a state-of-calamity.
“The result of the assessment will be used in the crafting of a comprehensive rehabilitation and recovery plan that will outline the restoration activities that will be undertaken in the affected communities,” the NDRRMC chief said. (PNA)
