Catapult X Announces New Awards Program, Science Educators’ Best of Show™, to Debut at the NSTA National Conference in Boston

Science Educators to Vote on Breakthrough Products and Services for Teaching and Learning

Each year, the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) brings together organizations from across the U.S. and abroad to share their products and services with educators attending the NSTA National Conference on Science Education. This year marks the first time the association, in collaboration with Catapult X, will offer exhibiting companies the opportunity to have their products considered the best in their product category, as voted on by a group of science educators through the Science Educators’ Best of Show™ Awards.

“We are pleased to support Catapult X’s Science Educators’ Best of Show Awards,” said Dr. David Evans, executive director at NSTA. “The awards program will allow teachers to provide input on the products and services they find most helpful to them in their science classrooms and recognizes the innovative work our valued exhibitors are doing to help our teachers deliver quality science and STEM education.”

“Teachers collaborating together to recognize exemplary technology, lab equipment, and services for educators and the world’s future scientists and engineers forms the heart of our program,” said Daylene Long, president of Catapult X. “Science Educators’ Best of Show debuts during NSTA’s 75th anniversary, and it seems fitting that part of the celebration includes educator voices recognizing extraordinary products and services from companies around the country that are transforming STEM teaching and learning.”

Judges selected by Catapult X will review nominations by anonymously visiting booths to learn more about the nominated products and services before scoring their findings. All attendees of the 2020 NSTA National Conference can also vote on products via the NSTA Conference app. These votes will be used in case of a judges’ tie to determine the winner.

Winners will receive an awards seal to use for promotions, will be highlighted in the summer print issue of NSTA Reports, and will receive publicity online via the NSTA and Catapult X websites.

Organizations interested in applying can do so via the Catapult-X website on or after December 2, 2019. Judging will take place from April 2 – 5, 2020 at NSTA’s National Conference in Boston. Price per entry is $325 prior to February 15, 2020 and $395 from February 15, 2020 until March 27, 2020. There are several categories available for entry, including a special booth experience award – Outstanding Vendor, Educators’ Choice – which is $195 to enter.
