5.6-magnitude quake hits Indonesia
JAKARTA, Dec. 4 (PNA/Xinhua) — An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted central parts of Indonesia on Sunday, the meteorology and geophysics agency said.
The quake struck at 12:24 p.m. Jakarta time (0524 GMT) with epicenter at 110 km northeast of North Sulawesi province, and the depth is 124 km under sea bed, an official of the agency told Xinhua via phone.
Indonesia lies on a vulnerable quake-hit zone called “the Pacific Ring of Fire.” (PNA/Xinhua)
