One EC Network Foundation Donates PHP12.1 million
for Co-ops’ CSR Programs

True to its advocacy of extending social advocacies, cultural development, and economic prosperity and abundance to member-consumer-owners or MCOs, the One EC Network Foundation, Inc. (OECNF) has pledged to donate a total of 12.1 million pesos to all electric cooperatives or Php100,000 per EC.

In its regular meeting held last April 22, 2020, the Board of Trustees passed a resolution “[A]pproving the donation of PHP100,000.00 to each of the 121 electric cooperatives as the Foundation’s contribution to ECs’ budget for the implementation of the Pantawid Liwanag Program (PLP) or CSR programs to be implemented by the ECs.”

While the Foundation has expressed its full support to the benevolent and altruistic Pantawid Liwanag Program of PHILRECA and its 121 member-ECs, there is no condition to exclusively donate the Php100,000 to the implementation of the CSR Program.

The Foundation has been supporting ECs and MCOs in the past, but this significant donation is in line with its mandate to provide aid and support those who are affected by calamities and crises, among other things.

The Foundation is in full support to the sector’s Pantawid Liwanag Program which aims to assist more than 3 million beneficiaries who are mostly lifeline consumers.

Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, the One EC Network Foundation is one of the key players in mobilizing Task Force Kapatid Tisoy and Ursula. The Task Force helped in the restoration of electricity distribution network in typhoon-stricken regions. It also made monetary and non-monetary (in kind) contributions in areas affected by other recent calamities such as the series of earthquakes in Mindanao and the volcanic eruption of Taal.

Other than these disaster relief operation services and rehabilitation of ECs, the Foundation is also heavily involved in medical/dental missions, training or capacity building for MCOs, medical assistance to members who are in need of urgent financial assistance, and other activities geared towards helping the MCOs.
