Dr. Austin Green, dentist at Creekwood Dental Arts in Waco, TX, is halfway to becoming a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, an honor held by only approximately six percent of dentists in the U.S. and Canada.
WACO, TEXAS (PRWEB) JULY 19, 2019
Trusted dentist, Dr. Austin Green of Creekwood Dental Arts in Waco, TX, is working toward becoming a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). A prestigious standing, only about six percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows. Dr. Green intends to achieve this fellowship in order to improve his patient care throughout every treatment, from general to cosmetic dentistry.
In order to become an AGD Fellow, a dentist must complete over 500 credit hours of continuing education, 320 of which must be from live courses. The dentist must also pass an exam similar to the exams required for board certification. All AGD Fellows keep up with the latest techniques and best practices in dentistry, and they practice these techniques in a classroom setting multiple times a year. Dr. Green, who began working toward this fellowship two years ago, has already completed 250 hours of required continuing education courses and has passed the extensive AGD Fellowship exam. One of his recently completed courses was on the modern advancements in mouthguards, taught by LA Lakers team dentist, Dr. Ray Padilla.
Dr. Green works alongside Drs. Donna G. Miller and Michelle Hinds at Creekwood Dental Arts, where the entire team works hard to ensure that every patient experience is comfortable and personalized. Dr. Miller has achieved the status of AGD Master, an honor held by less than two percent of dentists in the U.S. and Canada. As an AGD Master, Dr. Miller has completed over 1,100 credit hours of continuing education, including 400 hours in hands-on courses. These esteemed dentists offer a full suite of treatments from general dentistry, to dental implants, gum disease treatment, and cosmetic dentistry.
The cosmetic dentistry services that Creekwood Dental Arts offers are ahead of the curve. In addition to standard dental crowns and bridges, porcelain veneers, and teeth whitening, these dentists also offer custom Lumineers® and minimally invasive laser dentistry. Lumineers are extremely thin porcelain veneers that can be applied to teeth with minimal alteration to the natural tooth’s surface. Lumineers offer a whiter, more aligned smile. These dentists also use laser dentistry to quickly, and relatively painlessly, remove old metal fillings, so they can replace them with white, composite fillings that match the natural teeth.
Dr. Green is passionate about all aspects of dentistry because of the impact that high-quality dental work has on his patients. “I feel lucky to be able to be in a job where I can change people’s lives,” Dr. Green expresses. “I get to help patients and give them the opportunity to have a better life.”
