Calamba City cops bag 196 drug personalities in 2016 Q4

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna, Dec. 30 (PNA) — The Calamba City Police Office has arrested 196 illegal drug personalities in 89 police operations under the Project Double Barrel Alpha during the last quarter of 2016.

In its report released Friday, Calamba City Police officer-in-charge Superintendent Albert D. Tapulao said their strategy included clustering of the city’s 54 barangays into six clusters.

Tapulao said the six clusters were tagged as the city cops’ “Anti-illegal Drug Focus Teams” each headed by a Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) with personnel complement of 18 to 22 police.

Tapulao said the clustering smoothened operations and delineation of areas of engagements.

The 89 police operations in this year’s last quarter resulted in the arrest of 196 drug personalities; 180 cases filed and a total 302.26 grams of illegal drugs worth Php 774,400 were hauled.

Under the “Project Tokhang,” the Calamba law enforcers also processed 2,748 illegal drug surrenderers where 2,507 are males; 207 females.

The city police force’s “Operation Manhunt Charlie” or arrest of wanted persons netted 166 persons in the city’s “wanted list” including the No. 1 Most Wanted Person.
