Cloudy skies, isolated rains to prevail over PHL on Monday

MANILA, Jan. 2 (PNA) — Cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Mindanao on Monday, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

It added that cloudy skies with light to moderate rains is expected over the regions of Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, Bicol, eastern Visayas, the provinces of Aurora and Quezon.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

According to PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio, the trough of a low pressure area is affecting the eastern part of Mindanao, while northeast monsoon affects Luzon and eastern Visayas.

Moderate to strong winds will blow from northeast over Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from northeast with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
