Matrix Sciences International Inc. announces the opening of a new state-of-the-art laboratory in Philadelphia-area

Expands company geographically with reach into East Coast of United States to continue aggressive growth strategy.

Matrix Sciences, a leading provider of testing solutions for the food industry, announces it’s tenth location in North America. The 12,000 square foot facility is Matrix’s fifth microbiology laboratory and the second de novo laboratory that it has built in the last year. The facility also houses a state-of-the-art facility that expands the company’s sensory and consumer research reach into a critical market.

“This expansion of our geographic reach leverages the strengths that we have built across our network and is our first step in growth on the East Coast,” said Robert Wiebe, CEO of Matrix Sciences. “We are grateful to the customers that have fueled the growth of Matrix and who were central to our decision to invest in this new laboratory.”

This laboratory shares a harmonized Quality System with the rest of Matrix’s network and received ISO 17025 accreditation in February. It similarly uses a LIMS system that is being implemented across the company’s laboratories.

Matrix continues to differentiate itself in both its geographic reach and its scope of services. In addition to Microbiology, Food Chemistry and Pesticide Residue testing services, Matrix’s Advisory, Research, Sensory and Data Analytics offerings provide its customers with an industry-leading scope and depth of services.

“At a time when COVID-19 has compromised many businesses, all of Matrix’s laboratories remain fully operational,” said Wiebe. “This new facility gives us more reserve capacity to ensure our ability to service our customers.”
