Mitsubishi Chemical and OSIsoft Sign One of the First Enterprise Agreements in Japan

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation and OSIsoft have signed an Enterprise Agreement (EA) to further accelerate Mitsubishi Chemical’s digital transformation. The initial phase of this agreement will enable Mitsubishi Chemical to improve safety and optimize maintenance costs by leveraging real-time data for operational excellence and decision-making at selected plants.

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, a global chemicals leader, and OSIsoft LLC, a leader in operational intelligence, are proud to announce that they have signed an Enterprise Agreement (EA) to further accelerate Mitsubishi Chemical’s digital transformation. This is the first Japanese chemical company to enter into OSIsoft’s Enterprise Agreement.

The Enterprise Agreement with OSIsoft will support Mitsubishi’s digital transformation initiative by enabling Mitsubishi to deploy OSIsoft’s PI System broadly across its operations. The initial phase of this agreement will enable Mitsubishi Chemical to improve safety and optimize maintenance costs by leveraging real-time data for operational excellence and decision-making at selected plants. Ultimately, the goal is to use real-time data infrastructure to improve operations enterprise wide at many of Mitsubishi’s existing plants as well as at its new facilities planned abroad.

“Mitsubishi Chemical cites acceleration of data utilization using a unified data platform and infrastructure, as well as a strong partnership with OSIsoft, as the key reasons for their decision,” said Takayuki Aoyama, Senior Manager of Mitsubishi Chemicals DX Promotion Group, which is responsible for achieving continuous business transformation for operational excellence. “The value of the Enterprise Agreement is not only the unlimited use of licenses, but also the advanced support that accelerates training, development, utilization, and product development.”

“We are excited about this new level of partnership with Mitsubishi Chemicals, a true global leader in sustainability and innovation,” said Wolfgang Kuchen, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at OSIsoft. “By joining Mitsubishi Chemical in their digital transformation, we are supporting their mission to create innovative solutions globally based on their core values of Sustainability, Health and Comfort.”

The companies plan to work together to support the objectives of digital transformation.
