Pebble Labs USA Inc., a biotechnology company developing solutions that address some of the world’s biggest challenges in agriculture and aquaculture with the mission of improving global food security, announced today that they have been selected as one of eight presenters at the 2020 F&A Next ‘Next Heroes in Food- and Ag-Tech‘ virtual event, a global initiative to drive innovation in feeding future generations.

F&A Next, in cooperation with Foodbytes! by Rabobank, presents the eight most promising startups, including Pebble Labs, on May 13, during a free live webinar to an international audience of agrifood investors, executives, media and fellow entrepreneurs.

The eight startups were selected from a record number of applications for this international agrifood event. The applications came from 29 countries, from Sweden to Australia and from Hong Kong to the United States. Most solutions were in machine learning (28%), artificial intelligence (25%) and digital platforms (23%).

“As one of only two American ag-tech startups selected to present to a global audience at F&A Next, we are excited to share our revolutionary biotechnology which will reduce the need for chemical pesticides and antibiotics in food production and improve food security worldwide,” said Dr. Rebecca White, Chief Technology Officer, Pebble Labs.

On Wednesday, May 13, 10:15 a.m. EST, Pebble Labs President David Morgan will present the Pebble Labs transformative agriculture story. See the full webinar program here.

Emerging Pathogens Impact Plants

Viruses in plants can have devastating impacts, resulting in massive crop loss, destroyed fields, quarantines and borders closed to trade. The speed at which viruses can mutate is alarming, and new outbreaks are expected. Urgent solutions are needed.

Pebble Labs is working to establish a food security solution that can be rapidly deployed against emerging plant diseases. Our early research has demonstrated significant results against diseases without current solutions, addressing viruses in crops like tomatoes.

Meeting the future demand for crop production will require innovation and collaboration to meet the global need for food security.
